about the program

The program provides a solid foundation in mathematics, a deep understanding of mathematical physics, and an opportunity for in-depth study of theoretical physics. Emphasis on independent research encourages students to acquire knowledge and skills essential for fast personal development and a successful scientific career.

The program is being developed and implemented jointly with the Master's educational programs "Mathematics" of the Faculty of Mathematics of the Higher School of Economics and "General and Applied Physics" of the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology. The learning outcomes are mutually recognized, and joint defenses of theses and dissertations are conducted. Joint seminars and conferences are organized and held.

about Skoltech

Skoltech is an international graduate research-focused university that was founded by the group of world-renowned scientists in 2011. Students complete a minimum of required courses and then build their own curriculum competing by choosing from 200+ electives in various disciplines.

Students conduct real research with full access to Skoltech's advanced research laboratories. This reseach can also make up their final master's thesis.

industrial immersion & internship

In the summer between 1st and 2nd years of study, students gain practical experience in an 8-week long internship at leading corporate and research organisations.

Each program includes courses about commercialising projects, intellectual property law and business skills to prepare Skoltech graduates in their ventures and careers.
