To meet the continued growth in energy demand, scientists and engineers are searching for novel technological solutions for enhancing the recovery of existing hydrocarbon sources (secondary and tertiary recovery methods) and developing new methods for recovering unconventional hydrocarbon reserves (tight oils, heavy oils, bituminous sands, oil shale, gas hydrates, etc.). Here at Skoltech, we have created an academic environment for training of master students with the specialization in the prospecting and production of hydrocarbons, who have deep fundamental knowledge and competency to carry out experimental and theoretical researches in order to develop new tech-nologies related to difficult and unconventional reserves.
The master’s program includes immersion of students into the oil and gas production industry, execution of real-life projects in production and service companies, execution of scientific researches in the Skoltech Center for Hydrocarbon Production together with its partners – leading universities in this sphere from the Russia, USA, Canada and Great Britain.
Entrepreneurship and Innovation component
It includes several courses, one of which is the Innovation Workshop – a trademark Skoltech course introducing newly enrolled students to the culture of entrepreneurship and technological innovation.
8-week full-time internship in one of Russian or foreign companies. The master’s program includes immersion of students into the oil and gas production industry, execution of real-life projects in production and service companies
