Skoltech is an international graduate research-focused university that was founded by the group of world-renowned scientists in 2011. Skoltech's curriculum focuses on technology and innovation, offering Master's programs in 11 technological disciplines. Students receive rigorous theoretical and practical training, design their own research projects, participate in internships and gain entrepreneurial skills in English. The faculty is comprised of current researchers with international accreditation and achievements.

Alexander Kuleshov

Skoltech President

Alexander Kuleshov has being serving as Skoltech President since February 2016.

He graduated from Lomonosov Moscow State University with a degree in mathematics in 1970. Having started as an engineer at a huge state-run research institute, Alexander Kuleshov made an outstanding professional career in science, education and business.

He was Director of the Center for program technologies of the Russian Academy of Sciences (2001-2006), Director and later Advisor in the International Research Institute for Advanced Systems. From 2006 to 2016 he directed the Kharkevich Institute for Information Transmission Problems of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IITP RAS). Other appointments included Professor of the Faculty of Computer Science at the National Research University Higher School of Economics, Chair of Kafedra at Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology. 

The professional service included advising to the world’s technology giants, such as EADS, Deutsche Telekom, Telia and Ericsson. Currently Alexander Kuleshov is a member  of the Supervisory Board of JSC Sberbank and a number of   advisory committees, including Technology Committee (Chairman), Audit Committee, Risk Management Committee. He also contributes with professional expertise to the governing bodies in the ecosystem of Skolkovo:  he is a member of the Scientific Advisory Council of the Skolkovo Foundation, a member of the Skolkovo Gymnasium Board.

Alexander Kuleshov is a Full Member of Russian Academy of Sciences and a Member of RAS Innovation and Intellectual Property Coordination Council.

Alexander Kuleshov is a recipient of the Grade of Officer of France’s National Order of Merit (Ordre national du Mérite), awarded by France to individuals shown “distinguished merit,” such as acts of devotion, bravery and generosity.
