Skoltech is an international graduate research-focused university that was founded by the group of world-renowned scientists in 2011. Skoltech's curriculum focuses on technology and innovation, offering Master's programs in 11 technological disciplines. Students receive rigorous theoretical and practical training, design their own research projects, participate in internships and gain entrepreneurial skills in English. Ilia Dubinsky

Director of the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation

Ilia Dubinsky comes to Skoltech with a wealth of experience in managing startups and overseeing several venture funds and startup incubators in Russia and the U.S. Before joining Skoltech, Ilia served as the CEO of INFRA Technology, a company developing and commercializing advanced petrochemical and novel carbon materials technologies. He also served as a Partner of S-Group Capital Management (SGCM), a private equity and venture investment firm. There Mr. Dubinsky was responsible for the venture and technology investments, and overseeing the SGCM technology portfolio. During his tenure at SGCM, he set up and raised an RVC-supported fund aimed at Russian early- and mid-stage high-technology ventures.

Mr. Dubinsky has also led business development in Technology, Telecoms and Media in Central and Eastern Europe for International Finance Corporation (IFC). While at IFC, Ilia contributed to developing the IFC’s Funds Department strategy in Russia and in high technologies. In addition, Mr. Dubinsky is a founding member and serves as a director of MIT Enterprise Forum in Russia, an international volunteer nonprofit organization devoted to educating, mentoring and providing resources to technology entrepreneurs worldwide. He regularly teaches courses on technology transfer and commercialization and on technology entrepreneurship.

Ilia has also served as a President and Managing Partner of Cambridge Strategic Advisors, Inc. (USA), a consulting company specializing in high-technology industries, advising major private and institutional investors and Fortune 500 clients in North America and Europe. Prior to that, Ilia held managerial and senior consulting positions in TMNG Strategy and CSMG – firms, specializing in consulting for the communications and technology industries. Mr. Dubinsky holds a Ph.D. degree from MIT and a M.Sc. degree from CUA in Washington DC. and a M.Sc. degree from Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology.
