Skoltech is an international graduate research-focused university that was founded by the group of world-renowned scientists in 2011. Skoltech's curriculum focuses on technology and innovation, offering Master's programs in 11 technological disciplines. Students receive rigorous theoretical and practical training, design their own research projects, participate in internships and gain entrepreneurial skills in English. The faculty is comprised of current researchers with international accreditation and achievements.

Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan visited Skoltech

Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan and Head of the Presidential Administration Akylbek Japarov paid a working visit to the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology (Skoltech), where he toured some of the research facilities and met with the top management to identify cooperation priorities.

Japarov saw Skoltech’s impressive infrastructure capabilities while visiting its Research Facilities Center. The Prime Minister also got acquainted with Skoltech’s innovative lab developments in telecommunications and digital agriculture.

The Skoltech Project Center for Agro Technologies presented its research projects in three priority areas: biotechnology and plant selection, animal breeding, and digital agriculture. The distinguished guest was also shown the cutting-edge technology developed by the 5G Laboratory at the Skoltech-based NTI Center of Excellence in Wireless Technology and Internet of Things, which creates next-generation mobile communication technologies and applications for industries and telecom networks. The Laboratory’s flagship products include a 5G/LTE OpenRAN base station, an enterprise-level 5G/LTE mobile network core, and an ultra narrowband wireless standard for IoT networks for the housing and utility sector, infrastructure monitoring, and other applications.

The Skoltech hosts presented new technological opportunities that can help bolster the development of Kyrgyzstan thanks to Skoltech’s internationally recognized research competencies, primarily in artificial intelligence.

The parties agreed to consider possible avenues of cooperation in various fields and discussed plans for deploying a 5G station in the Issyk-Kul region and connecting Kyrgyz clinics to the Skoltech-based expert Medical Digital Diagnostic Center (MDDC). It was agreed to hold working meetings in order to explore collaboration opportunities in creating digital products for subsoil management, agriculture, energy, and fintech.
