There was a festive atmosphere on the Skoltech campus today, with faculty and students waiting with bated breath for the 2022 Commencement Ceremony. Skoltech proudly announced that 255 students graduated with an MSc. They are from 25 different countries — from Mexico and the U.S. over Italy to China and Nepal — and from all scientific fields represented at Skoltech: artificial intelligence and communications, life sciences and health, cutting-edge engineering and advanced materials, energy efficiency and ESG, photonics, advanced studies.
After years of dedication, learning, and independent research, these new alumni will pursue careers in academia and industry. For the first time in three years, the ceremony has been held offline.
“Today I can already address you as my colleagues. It’s an exceptional day. Some years from now, you will remember these two years at Skoltech as the best time of your life. You received an excellent education and now you can make your first step in the big life. Good luck!” said President Alexander Kuleshov in his address to the graduates.
MSc and PhD students were already eager to receive their diplomas from the president and Associate Provost and Dean of Education Clement Fortin. Traditionally, outstanding students were awarded for Best Research Thesis and Entrepreneurial Spirit:
