Skoltech is an international graduate research-focused university that was founded by the group of world-renowned scientists in 2011. Skoltech's curriculum focuses on technology and innovation, offering Master's programs in 11 technological disciplines. Students receive rigorous theoretical and practical training, design their own research projects, participate in internships and gain entrepreneurial skills in English. The faculty is comprised of current researchers with international accreditation and achievements.

Skoltech joins the Research Instrumentation Consortium

MIPT, Skoltech, MEPhI, Bauman MSTU, and other leading engineering universities and their partners have signed an agreement establishing a consortium to foster the development of research instrumentation in Russia. The signing ceremony took place Nov. 3 at MIPT.

The event was attended by Aide to the President of Russia Andrei Fursenko, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education Andrey Omelchuk, head of Rosstandart Anton Shalaev, Skoltech President Alexander Kuleshov, and executives from other founding organizations.

A roadmap for the development of Russian research instrumentation and a federal project providing state support for this activity were approved in September 2022. Currently, the consortium members are working on a pilot project to create 15 domestic instruments for electronics, photonics, biomedicine, pharmaceuticals, industrial security, next-generation communications, and other strategic sectors.

The research instrumentation program and the consortium’s activities aim to ensure Russia’s technological sovereignty in science and contribute to the development of basic and applied research.

At their first meeting, the consortium members mapped out the key tasks, working principles, and plans for 2023 and discussed collaborations with industrial partners that have enough capacity for full-scale production of new instruments.

The Research Instrumentation Consortium agreement was signed by Skoltech, Bauman MSTU, MIPT, MEPhI, MIET, VNII OFI, and the Agency of Technological Development.
