Skoltech hosted conference “Genomics, Metagenomics, and Molecular Biology of Microorganisms”
November 8, 2025
The IV International Conference “Genomics, Metagenomics, and Molecular Biology of Microorganisms” was held at the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology on October 25-27, 2025. The conference was organized by the Laboratory of Metagenome Analysis headed by Assistant Professor Artem Isaev and the Skoltech Bio Center.

The conference aimed to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and experience, discuss the results of the latest scientific projects, and foster collaboration among leading experts in the fields of genetics, molecular biology, and biochemistry of microorganisms. This year, the organizing committee received over 350 applications from students, PhD students, and scientists from seven countries.

The conference program included plenary lectures by leading scientists, oral and poster sessions, and opportunities for scientific discussions.

The plenary lectures were delivered by:

  • Mikhail Gelfand, D.Sc. in Biology, Professor, Vice President for Biomedical Research, Skoltech — “Ancient DNA and the History of Epidemics”
