PhD student Fedor Belolutsky delivered a presentation at the 15th International Colloquium on Pulsed and Continuous Detonations (ICPCD-2026) held in St. Petersburg from April 20-24, 2026. The talk, titled “Numerical investigation of the influence of endothermic reactions and periodic nonuniformities on the dynamics of one-dimensional gaseous detonations,” was based on a joint research paper co-authored with his supervisor Associate Professor Aslan Kasimov.

In September 2025 two PhD students participated in the annual All-Russian Conference of Young Scientists in Mechanics Named After Academician G.G. Cherny, held in Sochi.

Fedor Belolutskiy, PhD student of the Computational Mechanics track, spoke about the numerical investigation of the influence of non-uniformities and chemical kinetics on the dynamics of gaseous detonations.

Shamil Magomedov, PhD student of the Engineering Systems program, gave a talk on the analysis of combustion waves within the framework of a simplified model. His contribution proved a success, winning him the second place in the competition for the best scientific work among doctoral students.

And in October Maryush Soroka, PhD student of the Computational Mechanics track, gave a talk on combustion waves in periodically inhomogeneous medium at the International Conference on Numerical Combustion, held in Rome.

All three PhD students are supervised by Associate Professor Aslan Kasimov.
