Registration fee waiver applies until February 15th inclusive.
The Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology (Skoltech), a member of VEB.RF, has announced its 2026 admissions campaign, marking the institute’s 15th anniversary.
In 2026, Skoltech will offer 14 MSc programs and eight PhD programs in STEM, covering key areas of science, research, and technology. Skoltech’s programs include educational, research, and entrepreneurial tracks. The institute conducts pioneering research in critical areas of scientific and technological development, creating a comprehensive technology development cycle – from training personnel and conducting fundamental research to introducing its innovations in industry and business.
“We train professionals to work at the forefront of technology and ensure technological leadership in areas that are strategically important to our country. Our educational programs are designed to produce excellent researchers and engineers who can translate their discoveries into practical solutions for industries, entrepreneurs, and knowledge-intensive businesses,” Skoltech Associate Dean of Education Natalia Galochkina said.
At Skoltech, education is centered on essential research and engineering tasks and led by internationally renowned scientists and engineers. Students benefit from the institute’s unique research infrastructure with its state-of-the-art facilities. They also enjoy an international, interdisciplinary research environment and the freedom to design their own educational path.
Thanks to the institute’s extensive collaborations with industrial partners, students have the opportunity to intern with technology companies and participate in joint projects. The educational programs include courses on technology commercialization, intellectual property, entrepreneurship, and management.
For the 2026 admissions campaign, Skoltech is introducing an updated financial support model for tuition, including a registration fee and tuition reimbursement instruments that reflect the market value of the institute’s educational offerings. The registration fee, which covers the cost of reviewing applications, will not affect the Admissions Committee’s decision. The fee is in line with international practices at leading universities in Europe, the United States, and Asia.
Applicants who submit their application before February 15, 2026, will not be charged the registration fee.
Nevertheless, Skoltech remains committed to its core principle of supporting talented students from around the world. The institute offers full tuition coverage and scholarships to international students via a competitive selection process. Recipients are selected based on transparent, unified criteria, including online testing results, GPA, their previous university’s ranking, and interview results. Skoltech covers tuition for Russian students and awards scholarships to the best candidates based on competitive selection results.
Skoltech covers tuition for PhD programs for both Russian and international students. The institute also offers an industrial track, which involves deep immersion in an employer’s activities. Tuition for the PhD industrial track is covered by the employer.
Applications for the first wave of competitive selection for MSc programs will be accepted from February 2 to March 16, 2026.
Applications for the first wave of competitive selection for PhD programs will be accepted from February 2 to April 27, 2026.
