Dr. Sc. Pavel B. Sorokin is a Professor at the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology and Head of the Laboratory of Atomistic Materials Design and Transformations (AMDT Lab). Prof. Sorokin’s research interests lie in computational materials science and numerical quantum chemistry of (nano)structures, focusing on AI‑driven atomistic simulations and quantum-chemical calculations. His key directions include chemically induced phase transitions in low‑dimensional systems, spintronic heterostructures, superhard materials and design of nanostructured composites and catalysts.

Prof. Sorokin is listed among the best materials scientists in Russia and serves as a reviewer for journals such as Nature Reviews Materials, Nature Nanotechnology, Materials Today, Nano Letters, Advanced Materials etc. He has authored nearly 200 peer‑reviewed publications in leading journals including Science, Nature Chemistry, Advanced Materials, Nature Physics, Nature Communications, Nano Letters, ACS Nano and J. Am. Chem. Soc.; his citation index exceeds 11,000 with an h‑index of 48 (Google Scholar) and 41 (Scopus).
