On March 12, 2013, Vice President of Research Dr. Mats Nordlund spoke during the UK-Russia “Frontiers of Science” symposium in Kazan, Russian Federation, discussing the Skolkovo Innovation Center, Skoltech and research opportunities with the university.
“The scientists in Kazan were very interested in learning more about our Centers for Research, Education and Innovation,” said Nordlund. “It was a great chance to make connections and facilitate collaboration with British, and domestic universities.”
During the three-day conference, over 60 scientists from the UK, Tatarstan and greater Russia engaged in multidisciplinary workshops in eight subjects: biology, neurobiology, physics, IT, astronomy, geology, microbiology and chemistry.
Frontiers of Science is a series of prestigious international meetings for outstanding early career scientists, organized by the Royal Society in conjunction with national academies and scientific organizations around the world. The Kazan symposium is the thirteenth event since 2004 to exchange new ideas and establish international cooperation in all branches of the natural sciences.
