Japanese Club (日本語のクラブ)
The Japanese club aims to become a meeting place for those who have not previously studied the Japanese language but has motivation and a strong desire to do it. Firstly, club members will study Japanese language from a non-professional teacher – a student who is willing to share her experience and knowledge with others. Secondly, students will teach each other while preparing new lessons in order to grasp the educational material and to improve communication skills. And thirdly, club members will join a huge Japan-lovers community and immerse into the atmosphere of the Land of the Rising Sun.

Stretching Club
The club is a team of male and female students and researchers from Skoltech. We have 2-part training sessions for strength and stretching, and our progress reaching strategy is not forcing but productive exercises which lead to fitness development. We participate in internal events by preparing act of presentations and dances.

The main aim of the Volunteer Club is to help different people in need of it. They could be your colleagues (e.g. organizers of Selection Weekend and other Skoltech events), your friends or just people you don’t even know (e.g. people who need a blood donation or orphaned children). All you need in order to participate in our activities is a wholehearted motivation to help!

NES Case Club
This opportunity is for those who are interested in case competitions and improving their soft and business skills. The New Economic School (NES) is a part of the Skolkovo Education Cluster, and one of the best economic educational centers in Russia. NES Case Club is a platform to prepare for the selection process in leading consulting companies.
The Case Club team conducts regular educational activities throughout the school year on the NES campus in Skolkovo:
-consulting companies presentations
-meetings with NES alumni
-mock interview sessions and so on.
The Case Club is open to participants from Skoltech. The Case Club team invites you to participate in meetings.

Travel Club is a community of people who are interested in trips around Russia and abroad and exploring Moscow theaters, museums, etc. It takes place 1-2 times per month (mainly weekends or holidays).

Russian Speaking Club
Russian Club is devoted to help international students to get speaking skills in “surviving Russian”. For example, you will learn how how to speak with the driver of 27 or 818 and get other useful information about Russian language and speaking culture. Activity time: 1 time per week (each term time is defined accordingly to schedule of members).

It’s a club where you can meet new people or get to know your friends better! You can go there to play games, chat with whoever you want and spend time in relaxing and friendly atmosphere.

Wargames & Hobby Club
This club unites all members of Skoltech who are fans of Warhammer, Flames of War and Malifaux. These are expensive, complex, but very rewarding tabletop strategy games, simulating warfare in city environments. The gameplay is built around well-painted models of soldiers, tanks and buildings. Every player is supposed to buy, assemble and paint his own army. The entry cost is around $70 (Wh KillTeam), $250 (Flames of war) and $300 (Warhammer). In our club, we also have a lot of good terrain, airbrushes, compressors and paints.

Music Club
Music is the universal language of mankind. It unites people of different backgrounds and helps to express one’s feelings. Let us share our emotions and enjoy good company. This club is for those who enjoy music (pretty much everyone), who are interested in music (almost everyone), and who like to share his/her knowledge or particular skills, related to it with others.
If you know how to play piano, guitar or any other instrument – you are welcome. If not – no worries, you are welcome even more!

Please contact , Student Council’s club coordinator. She will walk you through the procedure. The only initial requirement for a new club is that you acquire 10 signed up members.
We encourage our students to participate in any sports activities. It’s healthy, fun, and it contributes to your brain activity, and therefore helps you academically. Since Skoltech is a young institute, we still don’t have a sports hall of our own yet. We rent one in the Moscow School of Management where our students play sports two times a week.
During the warm season, students can play sports on the sports ground near the pond behind the Skoltech building. To book a sports ground you just need to send an e-mail request to Alyabiev Vladimir at .
This year we opened a brand-new gym. The gym is located in room 062, 0 floor, in the blue building. To get access to the gym you need to read and sign the safety policy in the student life office. The gym is available 24/7.

Martial Arts and Self Defense Club
Using roots in the Japanese Tai Jutsu techniques and Russian system principles, training will help members get insights about their own reactions and fears, and learn how to cope with different dangerous situations. One of the main topics will be defense against one (or more), bare handed (and with weapons) opponents, and learning how to protect yourself or someone with you using improvised weapons.

The Skoltech Hockey club is open for people of any level of playing! Friendly matches will be organized on regular basis. Besides, participation in Moscow Student Hockey League is planned! In case you have no special equipment, it may be provided by Skoltech. If you are interested in playing this high-speed, challenging team game, you are more than welcome to join!

As some of you know, last year open lesson brought together about 50 Skoltech students and employees. Since then we’ve been dancing twice a week with a group of 12-16 dancers and established good connection with one of the best dancing communities in Moscow – MAMITA MOSCOW school - to hold dancing classes right in Skoltech. We’re eager to add more people to our dancing community and are very much waiting for those who have never tried dancing before and was waiting for such invitation. Isn’t this a sign?

The Lawn Tennis Club is for students who want to start playing tennis, regardless of the experience and skill levels.
If you have tennis background you can join new formed Skoltech Tennis team to take part in Student Sport competitions.
