Topic-Aware Reviewer Assignment Problems

In this talk, I will first focus on an assignment problem that addresses the peer reviewing process at academic conferences and journals. As we may know, achieving an appropriate assignment is not easy, because all reviewers should have similar workload and the subjects of the assigned papers should be consistent with the reviewers’ expertise. In this work, we propose a new group assignment of reviewers to papers, which is a generalization of the classic Reviewer Assignment Problem. We show the NP-hardness of the problem and propose a 1/2-approximation solution. In the second part, I will introduce other research work of my research group in University of Macau.
