The Skoltech Knowledge Transfer Office (KTO) at the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation is now established.
The KTO will assist in dissemination of knowledge and new discoveries out into the general public by providing services to support the technology transfer cycle. In particular, the services will include invention disclosure, invention assessment, patent protection, technology marketing and licensing.
The KTO already received the first Skoltech invention disclosure – one of the Skoltech Innovation Program teams invented a new nano porous material with ultra low-k, which might be of great demand in high frequency electronic production. This innovative material will allow the microelectronic industry players to extend Moore’s law for several years by manufacturing microchips below 10 nanometers feature size. As a result, modern electronic devices such as smartphones and supercomputers will become faster and more power efficient.
Currently the Skoltech Knowledge Transfer Office helps the research group with preparing the international patent application for December 2013.
