Koji Omi, Japan’s former Minister of Science and Technology, visited the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology on June 7 to speak with President Edward F. Crawley and senior staff.
On a visit to Russia, including meetings with Minister of Education and Science Dmitry Livanov and the leadership of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Koji Omi listened to a presentation on the endeavor at Skolkovo Tech and sought to build a collaboration to exchange academic and scientific information.
The visit could also lead to further cooperation with Mr. Omi in his efforts to build a worldwide network among scientists, policy makers and business people through his Science and Technology in Society (STS) Forum.
Koji Omi founded the STS Forum in 2004, which seeks to further progress of science and technology for the benefit of humankind, while considering ethical and environmental issues resulting from their application.
