VP of Research Expands Reach in Israel

Vice President of Research Mats Nordlund traveled to Haifa, to advise and encourage applicants for the second round of Call for Proposals and to further strengthen the bonds between Russia and Israel’s scientific communities.

Dr. Nordlund presented to a crowd of about 20 professors and senior administrators for universities, including: Technion-Israel Institute of Technology, University of Haifa and Bar-llan University. He also personally met with research groups and provided guidance on partnering with other universities and forming proposals.

“The entire trip served as confirmation that we are on the right track,” he said. “Unfortunately, no research proposals from Israel made it to the final round last time; however the applicants weren’t discouraged in the least. They trusted our selection process and confidently sought feedback to improve their proposals and make it in the 2nd or 3rd rounds.”

Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology and Massachusetts Institute of Science and Technology will co-host the second Research Center Proposers Conference on July 9-10, 2012 in Skolkovo, Russia.
