Skoltech is an international graduate research-focused university that was founded by the group of world-renowned scientists in 2011. A group of Skoltech education experts and academics will head to Prague to participate in the 26th Annual EAIE (European Association for International Education) Conference, scheduled for September 16-19, 2014. Themed ‘Stepping into a new era’, the conference will mark the significant transformations of the international education field.

The conference will bring together more than 200 representatives of international universities and educational institutions from 40 countries.

Skoltech, along with other leading Russian institutions, will showcase its unique educational model and programs, typical of this young university, as well as opportunities for academic and scientific cooperation at the international level. Skoltech experts will also participate in plenary sessions and individual discussions on the most pressing issues of the global education system including the internationalization of higher education institutions, partnership strategies, entrepreneurship and collaboration with industry, new technological solutions and distance education.

On September 14 to 15, Mikhail Myagkov, Skoltech’s  VP for Academic Affairs is slated to participate in a round table discussion whose key theme is the “cost of failure”: the need to make mistakes for the sake of successful institutional development.

Also attending the conference a re a number of  international and Russian Skoltech partners, including MIPT, Far Eastern Federal University, Higher School of Economics, St. Petersburg State University, Technical University of Delft (Netherlands), University of Groningen (The Netherlands), Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (Switzerland) and others.

Participants will discuss and debate the Internationalisation of higher education, which has gone from strength to strength over the last 25 years. Higher education professionals are now looking to the next steps; the next phase of internationalisation. This comes at a time when the dynamic field of international education is undergoing some of the greatest transformations ever, in all aspects of teaching, learning and administration. Will this transformation change the mould of the traditional higher education institution? What do the next 25 years have in store for us?
