“These are the first steps in building collaborative relationship in education and research between Hokkaido University, the school of engineering and Skoltech”, said Edward Crawley, President of Skoltech, “And hopefully in the next year we will begin to send some students there as a research summer school and they will begin to send us some students for innovation programs”.
During the visit to Skoltech, the Japanese delegation from Hokkaido University met with Skoltech administration, discussed the possible ways of cooperation and also toured the laboratories of the institute.
“It was interesting and important for us to understand what is being taught and studied at Skoltech”, said Toyoharu Nawa, dean of Faculty of Engineering of Hokkaido University, “The systems of education in Russia and Japan differ, that is why we have to know how to make our collaboration with regards to professors and students exchange and also which problems could occur during educational programs organization”.
