Skoltech is an international graduate research-focused university that was founded by the group of world-renowned scientists in 2011. Skoltech's curriculum focuses on technology and innovation, offering Master's programs in 11 technological disciplines. Students receive rigorous theoretical and practical training, design their own research projects, participate in internships and gain entrepreneurial skills in English. From June 29 to July 1st Skolkovo Innovation Center will turn into an international center for industrial design.

Industrial design inspires society, creates innovation and affects the future.

The program of the «Days of the industrial design in Skolkovo» is connected with these Skolkovo research areas: IT, Space, Biomed, Energy.

For the first time we created an expert communication platform where industrial designers and technology community can exchange their thoughts and ideas.

For the first time we will hold a design Hackathon, where industrial designers will be able to work with manufacturers of innovative products.

June 29 «Society»

The first day will be opened with a session about the role of industrial design in the commercialization of innovations. Participants: representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Skolkovo Innovation Center, Rostec Corporation and All-Russian Research Institute of Technical Aesthetics.

The key speaker of the day, Gergely Böszörményi-Nagy, will hold a talk about the Hungarian experience in the formation of the design industry. Prof. Matthijs van Dijk from the Reframing Studio will hold a presentation about innovations in the field of industrial design in the Netherlands. Sergei Smirnov, founder of SmirnovDesign, will hold a lecture about the importance of pre-studied research in industrial design in the field of medical technologies. 

June 30 «Future»

The second day will be starting with a discussion about promoting industrial design in the regions. Later this day there will be lectures by Dutch designer Jonas Martens, а leading industrial designer from Denmark Boris Berlin and legendary Italian designer Mario Bellini.

July 1 «Innovation»

The third Day will begin with the session organized by the Skolkovo Robotics Center “Robotics and industrial design”. Also, there will be lectures by Vladimir Pirozhkov, the president of the center for industrial design and innovation Astrarossa Design and Dmitriy Karpov, tutor at the British Higher School of Design. At the end of the day the results of the Hackathon will be announced.

Dual translation of all the sessions will be organized.
