The winners of the student track of the National Technology Initiative (NTI) Contest will be able to study with no tuition fee on Master programs of engineering universities

Five Russian universities: Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology, St. Petersburg National Research University of Information Technologies, Mechanics and Optics (ITMO), Innopolis University, Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) and Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU) – are offering the IV and V courses winners of the NTI Contest, to continue their studies at Master programs with no tuition fee.

The NTI Contest was established in 2015 and was held as part of the Kruzhok Association initiatives exclusively for schoolchildren. On December 3, 2018, responding to a student’s request from those who participated in the Contest while studying at school, the organizers of the NTI Contest in cooperation with partner universities launched a student track in six fields of future technologies knowledge. Participants can opt for any number of profiles and try to compete in new knowledge areas.

Any bachelor or specialist student with the Internet access can participate in the track of the NTI Contest – the qualifying round is held in online format. The registration is open till the end of February 2019. After successful completion of the qualifying round, the students will have face-to-face finals at Universities where they have to solve practical cases. The main award for winners – graduate students will be the possibility of free education in the magistracy, for students of the first three courses – an internship under the guidance of profile developers.

Two Skoltech master programs have joined the NTI Contest – «Space engineering systems» and «Information Science and Technology». To complete the admission process, participants of the finals “Aerospace Systems” and “Wireless Communication Technologies”, respectively, have to take part in an individual track, which includes an interview with the board of Skoltech professors about academic and personal achievements and to pass the TOEFL ITP exam on site, as further studies at Skoltech are conducted in English. Skoltech cooperates with leading technology companies and organizations in Russia and abroad; industrial immersion is part of studying process. Skoltech graduates are in high demand all over the world.

For the winners up to the 3rd year students, there will be internships with the possibility to participate in real research projects. For example, Innopolis University, according to the results of individual selection, will invite three participants to the summer design schools in robotics in 2019 and pay tuition fee, accommodation and meals. Innopolis University collaborates with 131 industrial as well as 36 academic partners around the world. Graduates receive job offers from such companies as Yandex Technologies, OWN, Cognitive Technologies, Ak Bars Digital Technologies, Sberbank Technologies and others.

ITMO University offers for the winners the opportunity to participate in a paid summer internship up to three months (as agreed) in research laboratories. Large international companies, such as Siemens, Electrolux, P&G, Heineken, Сoca-Cola, are interested in working closely with the university to train highly qualified specialists.

Internship programs will serve as an additional motivation for young students to compete in teams with senior students. Participation in the NTI Contest will help them to develop engineering skills and find desired pathway by undergoing internship in specialized universities and competing for the right to continue their education at the selected university at senior courses.

4th and 5th grade winners will receive a unique opportunity to shift toward in their education and continue studies in cutting-edge universities. The proposed Master programs open new perspectives for the professional development and provide competencies and skills, which will be an excellent start for building a successful career.
