Skoltech Open Education Center, with support of the Zoological Museum of Moscow State University, will hold a workshop “Collect a horse or a zoological puzzle” as a part of the Charity Fair.
The participants of the master class will collect a horse, understand the form and functions of the horse bones, and, at the same time, will receive answers to unexpected questions, for example the following: why is the elephant large and the mouse is small? Why do some animals have tails and others do not have? How many fingers does a horse have and where are its heels?
The participating children will get acquainted with different types of vertebrate skeletons, find out how the structure of the animals’ body changes depending on their living conditions, find out where the evolution works and where zoologists intersect with molecular biologists.
