5th International Conference on Matrix Methods in Mathematics and applications begins at Skoltech

The 5th International Conference on Matrix Methods in Mathematics and applications (MMMA-2019) opens at Skoltech. The conference, which is a collaboration between Skoltech, the Marchuk Institute of Numerical Mathematics, RAS and Huawei Technologies CO. Ltd., is taking place over a course of five days, beginning on Monday, 19 August, and finishing on Friday, 23 August.

Top researchers in those fields are gathering from Russia, Switzerland, Germany, Italy, UK, the United States as well as other countries. Every speaker will present an original work as well as a work-in-progress. The last time that this event took place at Skoltech was in August of 2015, when the 4th International Conference on Matrix Methods and Applications was held at Skoltech’s Technopark. Matrix methods make up the core of modern numerical mathematics, computational fluid dynamics, machine learning as well as other spheres of science and applications. The conference aims to present the most recent developments and results in matrix methods, numerical linear algebra, tensor decompositions in both fundamental and applied scopes.
