Skoltech’s Maxim Fedorov Wins Lenovo’s “AI for Solving Humanity’s Greatest Challenges” Award

Moscow, 20 November 2019 — Lenovo Group has announced the annual international Lenovo AI Innovation Challenge for AI and HPC technology to address humanity’s global challenges. This year, Skoltech’s Professor Maxim Fedorov, the Director of the Center for Computational and Data-Intensive Science and Engineering, won the award for the category, “AI for Solving Humanity’s Greatest Challenges,” at the Lenovo-Intel AI University Challenge 2019. Professor Fedorov has been given the opportunity to speak at the yearly Super Computing 2019 (SC19) conference in Denver.

Lenovo praised the contribution of Maxim Fedorov and his colleagues in the application of AI and high-performance computing for the theoretical justification, design and development of new medicinal compounds. According to the company, the Skoltech project has every chance of making a breakthrough in molecular medicine and affecting the life of humanity.

The Lenovo team thanked Maxim Fedorov for his contribution to science and invited him to attend the yearly Super Computing 2019 (SC19) conference in Denver. In November, Professor Fedorov will give a lecture at the largest meeting of Lenovo experts in the field of HPC and AI to which the best researchers from around the world are invited, dedicated to solving the most complex problems of humanity.
