The qualifications of the Laboratory of the Skoltech Center for Hydrocarbon Recovery have been confirmed by round-robin tests, or Interlaboratory Comparisons (ILC), organized by the Ural Research Institute for Metrology, a branch of VNIIM – the D.I. Mendeleev All-Russian Institute for Metrology. The high quality of the Lab’s rock measurements tested against national references was confirmed by excellent repeatability.
ILC involve a set of tests designed to provide an unbiased evaluation of a laboratory’s proficiency. ILC providers are reputable metrological organizations that have the required competencies and accreditations according to ISO/IEC 17043. The participating labs are given encrypted samples with very accurately defined properties undisclosed to the participants.
The CHR Laboratory has successfully passed all the comparison tests for rock open porosity, gas permeability and electrical resistivity. Participation in ILC is obligatory for all ILAC-accredited laboratories (ILAC – International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation).
