Skoltech is an international graduate research-focused university that was founded by the group of world-renowned scientists in 2011. Skoltech's curriculum focuses on technology and innovation, offering Master's programs in 11 technological disciplines. Students receive rigorous theoretical and practical training, design their own research projects, participate in internships and gain entrepreneurial skills in English. The faculty is comprised of current researchers with international accreditation and achievements.

Skoltech scientists ranked among top scientists for 2022

Research.com, a leading academic platform for researchers, has recently released the 2022 edition of its Top Scientists Ranking for multiple domains. Skoltech scientists were featured in the lists for computer science, chemistry, electronics and electrical engineering, engineering and technology, and mathematics.

Professor Andrzej Cichocki ranked 111th in the computer science ranking, making him No. 1 among Russian scientists. In addition, Professor Cichocki has been named on the annual Highly Cited Researchers™ 2021 list from Clarivate among six researchers from Russia.

Cichocki comments: “This high ranking in Research.com indicates that my research results are useful and inspiring for the international scientific community worldwide. Many of the most important scientific reports come from international collaborations. I have been lucky to have the opportunity to collaborate with so many excellent researchers in more than 25 countries. Our research results are open to the world and the international scientific community. My  main objective is to  improve quality of life, especially in health care  and in bioengineering applications.”

Skoltech Professors Artem R. Oganov (#1523 in global ranking and #2  in national), Keith Stevenson (#3820 in the world, #8 in Russia), Artem Abakumov (#7269 in the world, #21 in Russia) joined a company of 51 Russian scientists included in the global chemistry list.

Professor Vladimir Terzija ranked #1849 in the Electronics and Electrical Engineering ranking and #2 in Russia.

“My approach to science is similar to the approach I use when I play piano – I just improvise. Very often, I do not know what the outcome will be. Similarly, I am trying to express my speculative and adventurous ideas honestly and bravely when it comes to science! I have been working with so many talented young people, inspiring me daily, giving me new energy to start with a new project, new lecture, new thoughts about questions that could be on our research agenda. But, one of the most important aspects was the synergy and freedom when collaborating with so many interesting, lovely and unforgettable researchers. I particularly liked to learn from my students. They gave me, and they are still giving me the critical energy to move forward, particularly today when a number of research directions are impacted with such a massive number of uncertainties. This makes this amazing intellectual game even more exciting, so I am still enjoying it,” – says Professor Terzija.

Professors Andrei Marshakov (#477 in the world, and #7 in Russia), Anton Zabrodin (#1150 in the world, #14 in Russia), Ivan Oseledets (#1415 in the world, #20), and ranked among the world’s best mathematicians, together with 31 other representatives of Russia on the list.

“I am very pleased to be in this ranking among the world’s outstanding scientists who are not only known for their scientific achievements in mathematics but also had a huge impact on the development of mathematical education. I’m also honored to represent Skoltech together with my colleagues, as we teach students and push the world further in mathematics. I consider this an indicator of the fundamental role of our university in cultivating talented scientists for both our country and the world,” – speaks Professor Oseledets.

The ranking contains h-index, publications, citations values, and other appropriate for specific research areas metrics.
