Advancement of low-carbon development and renewable energy in Russia lies at the core of the collaboration between the Skoltech Project Center for Energy Transition and ESG, the Russian Energy Agency at the Ministry of Energy of Russia, the Skolkovo Foundation, and the Higher School of Economics (HSE).

The four parties have signed a cooperation agreement and created Green Energy, launching an extensive campaign to bring together enterprises, non-profit organizations, banks, educational institutions and research centers in order to promote a new green trend in Russia, with a focus on low-carbon development. A new community of partner organizations, the Club groups supporters of green initiatives in the time of the global geopolitical crisis.

At the signing ceremony at the Skolkovo School of Management, the parties confirmed their long-term commitment to pursue efficient and mutually beneficial cooperation by engaging in joint projects to promote low-carbon development, competitiveness and sustainable economic growth in Russia in the context of the global energy transition.

“Green Energy created by Russian research and education leaders demonstrates the commitment to achieve carbon neutrality by 2060, a task of national significance that continues to be relevant even in the time of global uncertainty,” says Irina Gayda, an expert at the Skoltech Center for Energy Transition and ESG. “The Russian authorities and major market players have repeatedly stated that Russia will continue to steer a steady course in the pursuance of its goals.”

Green Energy will soon launch its own web platform and announce its forthcoming events.
