Skoltech and ICLRC: cooperation taken to new heights

The Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology (Skoltech) and the International and Comparative Law Research Center (ICLRC) formalized their relationship in a Memorandum of Understanding signed by Skoltech President Alexander Kuleshov and ICLRC General Director Ekaterina Salugina-Sorokovaya at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum on June 17. The document will remain valid until 2025, with an option for extension.

The cooperation will focus on joint research in innovation management to facilitate import substitution, creation of ecosystems, energy transition, and the climate agenda. The parties intend to hold joint scientific and educational events, conferences, round tables and workshops, exchange information and expertise, and launch joint initiatives.

“The agreement strongly enhances the opportunities for collaboration between our institutions in the development of public analytical reviews and educational programs, as well as consulting projects for development institutions, government agencies and businesses, with a focus on sustainable development of the Russian energy sector. Skoltech’s research and technology competencies coupled with ICLRC’s extensive expertise in the legal aspects of sustainable development create unique potential for synergy. Our Project Center for Energy Transition and ESG will be the lead integrator from Skoltech’s side,” Skoltech President Alexander Kuleshov says.

“It is important for us to continue and expand our collaborations with Skoltech. Today, our Center’s legal competencies and Skoltech’s ample expertise enable rethinking and redefining many ideas of high relevance in the new reality, such as the climate agenda, green financing, development of the carbon market, regulatory framework for ESG transformation, and energy transition. Thanks to joint projects, our ongoing activities receive a fresh impetus and produce results that we regularly report to all the stakeholders,” ICLRC General Director Ekaterina Salugina-Sorokovaya notes.
