Skoltech to showcase robots at science festival
On September 4, Skoltech’s Robotics Lab will present its robots at the popular science festival, N+1 Fest: Scientific Discovery 20/21. The collection will include a disinfectant robot, UltraBot; a delivery robot, RunBot; and a robot and device charger prototype, MobileCharger.
The Skoltech Center for Energy Science and Technology (CEST) will exhibit a prototype tank powered by sodium-ion batteries − a cheaper and more durable alternative to conventional lead-acid and lithium-ion batteries and a promising solution for stationary energy storage.
Also, the festival will feature a series of lectures by Skoltech professors, including Petr Vorobev who will share some insights into renewable energy, Yury Kostyukevich who will talk about scientists and athletes playing a cat-and-mouse game in pursuit of doping and simple chemical tests becoming a geopolitical lever, and Yuri Kotelevtsev who will explain the role of transgenic animals in drug development.
N+1 Fest will take place on Saturday, September 4, from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
N+1 is a Russian-language popular science online platform created in 2015 and featuring frontier research and technology. This is the first time it hosts this kind of event.
