Skoltech’s sci-comic book, “That’s True,” has been long-listed for the 2018 Educator Award

Skoltech’s sci-comic book, “That’s True,” published in collaboration with Eksmo and Schrödinger’s Cat, has been long-listed for the 12th Educator Award for the best popular science book in Russian.

Only 25 candidates out of over 180 books and 80 online projects made it to the Educator long-list.

Co-chairman of the Educator Award organizing committee, Alexander Gavrilov, comments on Skoltech’s sci-comic book: “The book portrays modern scientists as superheroes who set themselves incredible tasks, striving to change the world today and every day.

The short list in the ‘Best Book’ and ‘Educator.digital’ categories will be announced in October 2019, followed by the awards ceremony on November 21.

Getting long-listed for the Educator Award means that we can and should experiment, even if it takes combining incompatible things, like complex science, serious researchers, audacious authors, and hooligan artists, like Duran or Oleg Tishchenkov. This is an exciting and inspiring experience that opens up broad if not unlimited prospects for more ambitious or even crazy projects, helping different audiences to discover science,” says the project art director and Deputy Head of the Skoltech Student Outreach and Recruitment Office, Danil Petrushin.

The long list can be found on the Educator 2018 official website: http://www.premiaprosvetitel.ru/.

In 2017, Skoltech and IITP RAS’ book, “Mathematical Walks. A collection of Interviews,” won the Educator Award in the Neformat category.
