The President of Tel Aviv University (TAU), Professor Ariel Porat and Skoltech President Alexander Kuleshov have signed a cooperation agreement between Tel Aviv University and the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology.
There has already been a successful academic exchange between the two universities. From 2016-2018, five students from Skoltech’s Life Sciences program, under Professor Konstantin Severinov’s guidance, trained at TAU; eight Skoltech Master’s and PhD students also took part in the TAU summer school on food security. In addition, during the 2017-2018 academic year undergraduate E. Fomenko conducted research work under the joint supervision of Professor K. Severinov and Professor U. Kimron from the TAU Faculty of Clinical Microbiology and Immunology. This was under the auspices of the long-term academic mobility program and the topic was on “Inhibition of Adaptation of the Escherichia coli Type I-E CRISPR-Cas by Phage Proteins”.
In order to promote cooperation between the universities, the proposal is to establish a bilateral program supporting educational, research and innovational activities in the fields of medicine, neuroscience and big data processing.
