I would like to address and thank everyone at Skoltech for your patience, understanding, commitment, and strong will. Now that all of us at Skoltech are going through hard times, I realize that all of you are the reason why I am staying with Skoltech, as all and each of you are my main treasure.

I truly regret that COVID-19 has forced our students, faculty and most of our employees to leave our beautiful Campus and its high-tech labs and stay home. It is a great pity that the pandemic has ruined our business and personal travel plans, separating us from our loved ones. Personally, I feel sad about being unable to see my beloved granddaughter in Paris on her birthday. I truly wish it were otherwise.  Still, I am happy and proud that Skoltech is joining efforts in confronting this severe challenge.

Dear students, I imagine how wary and uncertain you may feel about studying online. Just try to think of it as Skoltech’s new start-up which does work!

Dear faculty, I am heartened by the work you are doing to ensure the best possible distant learning experience for all of our students.

Dear employees, you are doing a very good job of providing the services we normally receive on-campus in the online mode.

On the practical side, please make sure to comply with the general safety measures, such as staying home and washing your hands properly. Social distancing is important too, so please use on-line resources as much as you can, either for work and learning or for communicating and partying with your family and friends.

Learn, work, brainstorm, meditate, respect, love, smile, stay calm and confident, stay home and be safe.

The dark times will pass, I’m sure.
