Skoltech and SUT launch a network Master’s program, “Wireless technology & the Internet of Things”

The Bonch-Bruevich St. Petersburg State University of Telecommunications (SUT) makes part of a consortium established by the National Technology Initiative (NTI) Center of Excellence (CoE) in Wireless Technology (WT) and the Internet of Things (IoT). In 2020, Skoltech and SUT are expanding their long-standing partnership into the educational sphere by launching a new joint Master’s program to train top-notch WT professionals.

The new 2-year tuition-free selection-based program will be delivered in network form to leverage the respective strengths of the two universities. SUT will provide in-depth theoretical training during the first year, while Skoltech will take over from the second year to offer hands-on training in research projects and the basics of entrepreneurship and commercialization of innovations. On top of that, all students will have an opportunity to test and hone their skills during 8-week Industrial Immersion with industry leaders.

Dmitry Lakontsev, Director of CoE: “Wireless technology, including 5G, the IoT and industrial data processing are the key drivers for the development of all economy segments from industry and transport to agriculture and healthcare. These frontier technologies expected to gain increasing importance in the short term have enormous potential that will require highly-skilled engineers, software developers, designers, project managers, and other experts. I am very happy about launching a joint educational program together with our long-time partner, SUT. I am confident that together we will make education better and more accessible.”

The recruitment procedure consists of several steps. You can find more details here.
