Skoltech is an international graduate research-focused university that was founded by the group of world-renowned scientists in 2011. If you love geography and wish to test your knowledge, join our Geographical Dictation at Skoltech on October 30.

An international educational event organized by the Russian Geographical Society, the Geographical Dictation consists of 40 questions, of which the first 10 cover the fundamentals of geography and are based on well-known geographical facts, and the next 30 require creative thinking, logic, and erudition.

The Dictation will be delivered by geography teacher Alexander Lobzhanidze, member of the Academic Council and Deputy Chairman of the Commission of Geographical and Environmental Education at the Russian Geographical Society, and Head of the Social Sciences Department at the Skolkovo International Gymnasium.

All the assignments included in the Dictation have passed the mandatory review by professional geographers.

Individuals of any age, education and nationality are welcome to attend. Each participant will receive a Certificate of Participation. The Campus ensures accessibility for the physically challenged.

Please make sure to carry your passport − you will be asked to present it at the checkpoint.

Pre-registration is mandatory. To register, send your full name to at least 24 hours before the event.

Event timetable:

11:00 – Opening;
11:00-12:00 – Registration of participants and issue of Dictation Forms;
12:00-12:15 – Quiz and Dictation briefing;
12:15-13:00 – Dictation;
13:00-13:10 – Handing in the filled-out Dictation Forms;
13:10 – Closure.
