Skoltech is an international graduate research-focused university that was founded by the group of world-renowned scientists in 2011. Skoltech's curriculum focuses on technology and innovation, offering Master's programs in 11 technological disciplines. Students receive rigorous theoretical and practical training, design their own research projects, participate in internships and gain entrepreneurial skills in English. The faculty is comprised of current researchers with international accreditation and achievements.
Innovation Workshop (IW) is a unique intensive course (6 ECTS credits) that is compulsory for all MSc students; it is designed to foster innovators, focuses on teamwork, group projects, and sparks entrepreneurial instincts from the very first days of study. IW is the first course focused on the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Innovation Workshop, 2018, brought together 360 students in 62 team projects under the supervision of 24 esteemed business people from Europe, Israel, USA, Australia, and Asia, and dozens of Skoltech faculties.
The best projects produced a programmed robot for treating autistic children, developed a sound detection system for unmanned aerial rescue vehicles, assembled an electronic nose for industrial safety use, synthesized durable novel materials for industrial engines, programmed neural networks for e-commerce, and employed a laser detector to enhance road surface maintenance.
