Svetlana Yachevskaya was born on April 10, 1977 in Moscow.
In 2001, she graduated with honors from the International Independent Ecological and Political Science University with a law degree. Later she graduated from the Financial Academy under the Government of the Russian Federation with a degree in financial management. She is Candidate of Legal Sciences.
From 1999 to 2003, she was a member of the Bar Association “Moscow Law Center”, where she acted as a legal counsel. Later she worked an associate professor at the Department of Legal Support of Management Activities of the MGIMO University (Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs).
From 2003 to 2004 she held the position of Head of the Legal Support Department of the Property Department of the Military-Industrial complex for power ministries and departments at the Ministry of Property Relations of the Russian Federation.
From 2004 to 2008, she held different positions in the Federal Agency for the Management of Federal Property, including Deputy Head of the Property Department of Law Enforcement Agencies and Judicial Bodies, Head of the Legal Department, Deputy Head of the Department of Defense Organizations and Law Enforcement Agencies.
From 2008 to 2017, she headed the Legal Department of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation.
In 2017- 2022, she has been acting as the Deputy Chairman of Vnesheconombank and as a Board member. Starting from 2022, she is Advisor to the Chairman of the Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation.
Svetlana is a recipient of awards and recognitions, including Gratitude of the Government of the Russian Federation “For Merits in Economics and Financial Activity, as well as Many Years of Conscientious Work”, Gratitude of the President of the Russian Federation “For Active Work on the Implementation of the Tasks Set by the President to Improve Efficiency of the Provision of State and Municipal Services”, Gratitude of the Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation “For Merits in Financial and Economic Activity and Many Years of Impeccable Work”, Order medal for “Merit to the Fatherland”, II degree (2011). She has the status of “Full State Counselor of the Russian Federation” rank (II).
