The impact on Russia that the CREIs and their partners will potentially make is listed below, which also constitutes the criteria that Skoltech and its stakeholders will use in evaluating the success of the CREIs and effectiveness of the partner program.

  • Establishing a gateway/portal to leading academic institutions internationally for academia and industry in Russia
  • Social impact – creating new discoveries, as well as ideas, approaches, and technologies, developed with a consideration of use to solve an important problem, or create an important opportunity in Russia
  • Economic impact – engage with the Russian entrepreneurial community, Russian based industry, and multi-national industry operating in Russia, with the goals of effective knowledge exchange and generation of intellectual property, in order to accelerate the development of existing strengths of Russian industry, and establish new areas of strengths with highest potential to impact the Russian economy
  • Academic impact – the creation and dissemination of ideas and knowledge in Russian research institutions and universities, the support of Russian universities in their missions, and the creation and implementation of new models for Russian academic institutions
  • Policy impact – providing ideas, models, analysis and relevant experiences that will support the development of governmental policy in Russia
  • Talent impact – attracting talent to Russia, and developing new capabilities in the workforce (industrial, scientific and governmental) in Russia
